About

Not a company. A room, curated.

Founder's note

I'm Mike Torchinsky. I've spent 25 years placing senior leaders into roles across every industry and geography. Over 1000 placements. Cities on every continent — enough that the airport queues start to blur.

Most of those placements never touched a job board. They happened through private conversations — between firms that knew me and leaders who trusted me. That's how senior hiring actually works at this level. A small set of people hold the keys to a handful of private rooms, and they decide who gets introduced to whom.

TOPHEADS is what I wish existed for the leaders I've been placing all these years. A private market they control. Where their card is anonymous until they choose otherwise. Where they approve every introduction. Where the firms on the other side have been vetted by one person who's been in this business long enough to know which ones will waste their time.

It's not a platform. It's infrastructure around the thing I've always done — with my judgment still running the room.

What TOPHEADS is

A private market for senior leaders earning $150K+ total comp. Two memberships (TOPHEADS, Select ✦) that differ in the narrowness of the firm-side shortlist. Every member reviewed by me personally. Every firm reviewed by me personally. No placements without consent on both sides.

That's the whole product.

The standard

There are three parties in every TOPHEADS introduction — the member, the firm, and me.

What members owe

An honest card. If your comp is $180K, the card says $180K. If you're not really open to a move yet, the card reflects that. Honesty is the minimum cost of being in the room.

What firms owe

Specificity and respect. If you request an introduction, you name what the role is and why you're asking this specific member. No fishing. No recycled outreach. No ghosting after the intro.

What I owe both of you

Judgment. I read every card. I talk to every firm. I don't introduce people to firms I wouldn't introduce my own friends to. If I'm wrong about a match, I own it, I apologize, and I fix it.

What you can expect of me

I read your card myself, usually within two business days.
I email you back personally when something changes.
I don't hand you off to a coordinator.
I tell you the truth about your market position — even when it's not the answer you want.
I don't run TOPHEADS for volume. I run it for the people already in the room.
